Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Remarque Printmaking Workshop hosts an international open submission exhibition every year. There were over 600 submissions this year, from which 36 were chosen for the show. My screenprint Another Blue Day II was one of the pieces chosen.
Realising that some of the work submitted to the 111 Mini Print Internacional Cantabria by a number of international artists, had not arrived due to delivery problems caused by Covid-19, the organisers decided to exhibit every print, rather than a selection made by the jury. In order to be fair, they will wait until all the prints have arrived and then choose the prizewinners. Meanwhile the show is on display and will continue until December 2020. As new pieces arrive they will be added to the exhibition. Lilac Lake is one of the screen prints I submitted.
More and more exhibitions, postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, are now taking place. The 40th Miniprint of Cadaqués is now on in the Taller Galleria Fort and will continue until September 30th 2020. Over 40 countries are represented in the show, my screenprint “Reeds” is one of the works on display.
I am a participant in the on-line print exhibition “On Paper 2020“. My piece in the show, “Another Blue Day XXXIV”, is a hand finished screenprint on Fabriano paper. The title comes from a line in the first verse of the poem “Today” by Thomas Carlyle: So here hath been dawning Another blue Day: Think wilt thou let it Slip useless away.
The website MAKING recently asked me to write a piece for them about someone I had known since the early days of my career. Blanaid Reddin, who passed away towards the end of 2019 at the age of 90, left a low key but far reaching legacy. Read Blanaid Reddin Remembered on www.making.ie
MAKING celebrates “Irish craft in stories, events, images and archive” and is a mine of information for anyone interested in beautiful, handmade, Irish objects.
Stay well and safe in these difficult days.

Two of my screenprints, “Sunlight and Shadow” and “In the Woods” are part of the exhibition ,which runs until 25th April 2020
